Cooking Instruction

Pressure cook toor dal until tender. Meanwhile, simmer tomatoes and tamarind together to create a pulp.
Combine the tomato-tamarind pulp with salt, one tablespoon of Panchabhootani Rasam Powder, and 1 liter of water in a pot. Bring to a boil.
Add a small piece of jaggery and the cooked dal to the boiling mixture. Continue to boil.
During the boiling process, add curry leaves for flavor.
In a separate pan, heat one teaspoon of ghee. Add mustard seeds and asafoetida. Once they splutter, drizzle the tempered mixture over the rasam.
Serve hot with steamed rice.
