Cooking Instruction

1. Pressure cook toor dal until tender. In parallel, boil your choice of vegetables, tomatoes, and tamarind together until they form a pulp.

2. Combine the vegetable-tomato-tamarind pulp with salt and two tablespoons of Panchabhootani Sambar Powder in 1 liter of water. Bring to a boil.

3. Add the cooked dal to the boiling mixture and continue to boil thoroughly. Stir in curry leaves for added flavor.

4. In a separate pan, heat one teaspoon of ghee. Add mustard seeds and asafoetida. Once the mustard seeds start popping, pour this tempering over the sambar.

5. Serve hot with steamed rice.
