Method of Preparation

Boil 20g of toor dal in 2 cups of water until fully cooked and mashed. Separately, soak 40g of tamarind and extract the pulp. In a vessel, heat 2 tbsp of oil and add 2 tsp of mustard seeds until they splutter.
Add 3-4 dried red chilies, sliced 200g of tomatoes and 3-4 sprigs of curry leaves.
Sauté for 2-3 minutes. Now add the tamarind pulp, 3-4 tbsp of Meiyal Rasam Powder, boiled toor dal and required water, bringing it to a gentle boil.
Adjust seasoning with salt. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander and serve hot.
